STEADY LEADERSHIP FOR STRONG SCHOOLS

My mission is to guide public education in Virginia Beach with fairness, responsibility, and a commitment to evidence-based decision-making that benefits all students.

Antoinette is an educator, program builder, and longtime Virginia Beach District 6 resident who raised two sons with her husband in Virginia Beach Public Schools. Her experience with Our education system spans decades, as a parent, volunteer, PTA leader, and professional educator.

She served as program director at the Virginia Beach Technical and Career Education Center, where she built a dental assisting program from the ground up, wrote the curriculum, partnered with Dental Public Health, and helped students gain real-world skills that prepared them for meaningful careers. Her work also included curriculum development at the state level and student leadership through SkillsUSA and HOSA.

Antoinette believes strong public schools are the building blocks for a strong community. Young people need accountable leaders on the Virginia Beach School Board that will put students over politics. When elected Antoinette will prioritize thoughtful governance, meaningful support for teachers,  real career pathways for students, and open, respectful communication with families and our community. She is committed to student-centered, non-partisan leadership that keeps integrity, fairness, and public trust at the forefront of every decision made as a school board member.

Voters deserve leadership that is prepared on day one, grounded in experience, committed to the district, and focused on what works for students.

Strong schools require steady, thoughtful leadership.

For over four decades, as a dental hygienist, educator, and program director, Antoinette has worked with students, families, and professionals and knows what it takes to be an accountable leader.

Antoinette has lived and worked in the North End of Virginia Beach for decades. She & her husband raised their family here, built a career here, and spent 44 years in healthcare and education, developing curriculum, working directly with students, and partnering with public schools and public health.

After years of teaching, working and volunteering in Virginia Beach Antoinette is ready to serve on the school board and leverage her experience into helping Virginia Beach schools be the best in the Commonwealth for our children, families and taxpaying residents. shapes how you approach decisions.

A Career Built in This Community

Prior to teaching Dental Assisting, she was a 25-year veteran of dentistry as a registered dental hygienist, co-owner of A&A Pro-Den-Temps, Inc., and manager of Strawbridge Dental Associates.

She pioneered the pilot program for a partnership with the Virginia Beach Department of Dental Public Health to combine resources to more effectively and efficiently serve the dental needs of Tech Center students and gave her dental assisting students valuable chairside experience with the dentist. That partnership won the Outstanding Partnership Award for the City of Virginia Beach in April 2014 and was featured at the National Oral Health Conference: The Nuts and Bolts of Programs that Work.

Community Health Leadership

She was president of the Oral Health Improvement Coalition of South Hampton Roads (OHIC), following a six-year position as chair of the Patient Education Committee. She received her Certificate in Dental Hygiene from Howard University in 1981 and her Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Old Dominion University in 2008.

She has been married to her dentist husband for 43 years. Through OHIC they worked together to offer free dental services to the Tidewater area’s dentally uninsured.

Antoinette’s Experience

Experience and connection to the community matter. She has lived and worked in this district for decades. She raised her family here, built a career here, and spent 44 years in healthcare and education, developing curriculum, working directly with students, and partnering with public schools and public health.

That kind of experience shapes how you approach decisions. School board service requires:

  • Understanding how classrooms actually function

  • Knowing how policies affect teachers and students day to day

  • Having long-standing relationships in the community

  • Being fully grounded in the district you serve
